Koenji Hikawa Shrine, also known as Numabukuro Hikawa Shrine, is a uniquely fascinating shrine — the only one in all of Japan that houses a Weather Shrine (Kisho Jinja) dedicated to the God of Weather. The main shrine's deity, Susanoo-no-Mikoto, is celebrated as the God of Warding Off Evil and the God of Destined Love, making this shrine popular for blessings of protection and romantic connections.

This omamori carries prayers for "houi-yoke" (方位除け) — protection from inauspicious directions. In Japanese spiritual tradition, certain compass directions can bring misfortune depending on the year. Available in vermilion, navy blue, and a special wooden version, this charm guards against directional bad luck — especially important when moving, traveling, or making major life changes.
