Return & Refund Policy
General Policy
Due to the sacred and personal nature of omamori, we do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations once an order has been prepared or shipped.
Each omamori is individually sourced from a Japanese shrine or temple and prepared specifically for your order.
Damaged or Incorrect Items
If your order arrives damaged or you receive an incorrect item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with:
- Your order number
- A photo of the damaged/incorrect item
- A brief description of the issue
We will review the issue and arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate.
Lost Packages
If your package has not arrived within the estimated delivery window and tracking shows no updates for more than 14 days, please contact us. We will investigate and work with the shipping carrier to resolve the issue.
Customs Duties & Import Taxes
Customs duties and import taxes may be charged by your country's customs authority when your package arrives. These fees are determined by your local government and are NOT included in our prices.
- The buyer is responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, and any other fees imposed by the destination country.
- We are unable to predict or control these charges, as they vary by country.
- We cannot refund customs duties or import taxes, as these are collected by your government, not by Japan Omamori Shop.
Refused Delivery / Customs Duty Refusal
If a package is refused at delivery — including refusal to pay customs duties — the following applies:
- Return shipping costs from the destination country back to Japan will be deducted from any refund.
- A restocking/handling fee of $10 may apply.
- Original outbound shipping costs are non-refundable.
- If the returned package is lost or damaged during return transit, we cannot guarantee a refund.
We strongly recommend checking your country's customs regulations before placing an order. If you have questions about potential duties, please contact us before purchasing.
